Hasbro and Acidfree Gallery will be launching a new series of limited edition screen-prints in posters size. Featuring images from Hasbro’s Transformers and G.I. Artist Tom Whalen is really showing off his skills these days and it seems that he has been dabbling in just about every hot pop culture trend. Not that is a bad thing his clean-cut geometric line style and bold primary and secondary colors still amaze me. So here I share with you one of Whalen’s pop culture concoction featuring the G.I. Joe team that was produced in 2011 created for IDW Publishing. Check out the art and some artist commentary below from Whalen.
Marvel Avengers Posters By Mondo Artist Tom Whalen & Olly Moss

Mondo is getting huge! check out the latest collaboration and first look at the limited edition Avengers Posters by Mondo featuring Black Widow, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and, Thor and a poster featuring the full Avengers team. Seven different talented Mondo artists have created a poster for each member of the super hero team with their own style. The first two posters in this incredible series are Black Widow and Hawkeye. The Black Widow poster is by Mondo artist Olly Moss which goes on sale tomorrow April 19, 2012 and the Hawkeye poster by artist Tom Whalen on sale April 20, 2012. Mondo and Tom Whalen Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century Looney Tunes Art

Tom Whalen and Mondo have produced a contemporary limited edition movie poster of classic cartoon Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century which will be its first Looney Tunes print. Part of Mondo’s debut Science Fiction themed exhibition in its new gallery space at 4115 Guadalupe Street in Austin. There will be almost 40 pieces of original art and screenprints from more than 30 artists. Whalen began creating cartoon posters for Mondo early 2011 when the company’s first Disney piece was released. A black, white and silver screenprint of 1928 Disney short Steamboat Willie printed by DL Screenprinting. The Duck Dodgers piece is limited to 320 made at the price of $40.OO USD. Which by now are probably sold out by now. Other Mondo/Whalen collaborations include Disney animated features and shorts, 1934 The Wise Little Hen, 1940 Pinocchio, 1988 Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, 1937 Lonesome Ghosts, 2011 Rango and 2001 Monsters, Inc. a Pixar film. Plush check out his Star Wars art. Whalen inspired by comic-book artists as John Romita, Jr., Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, Mike Mignola and Art Adams.
