Disney XD: Tron Uprising The Renegade, Part 1 Review
Did anyone catch the first episode of the new animated series Tron Uprising “The Renegade, Part 1″ which made it’s debut on June 7, 2012? well let me sum it up for you in a quick review. Renegade was the follow up to the introductory episode “Beck’s Beginning.” The infamous program of the Grid Tron trains young program Beck. In this journey Beck begins to doubt the skills he is learning will be enough to prevail against the almighty program Clu. In “The Renegade” you are following Beck (voiced by Elijah Wood) learning his motivations for teaming up with the legendary Grid freedom fighter Tron (voiced by Bruce Boxleitner). Tron who only appears briefly at the beginning of the episode. You see him and Beck in a dynamic Light Cycle race. The you don’t see him for the rest of the episode. Then the story moves in a different direction now on The Grid. You are introduce to Cutler (voiced by Lance Reddick), a program who has come to Argon City to join up with the mysterious Renegade, whom he believes to be Tron. Now on the Grid, Beck is imprisoned is transport and is taken to partake in the games which is a bit strange. (This part of the story reminds me much like Tron Legacy when Sam is taken to the games.) Beck proves smart enough to have defeated and escape the games but then Paige (Emmanuelle Chriqui) for some reason convinces him to go back into the games, I guess to prove another point? I was confused on that part of the series. You do not met Clu yet and there is a couple of side stories that go on that seemed a bit more interesting then the actual store plot its self. Able, is a collector of antiques who currently has an old-style Light Cycle, the Rencon 786. Pearl ends up stealing it. There was also a cameo by Bit. So all and all I can’t wait for the next episode to answer some of my question.
