The Amazing Spider-Man Washington Memorial Gimmick

Has anyone seen the new promotional gimmick being used for the up coming Marvel movie, The Amazing Spider-Man? I’m kinda turned off by it, maybe others will think it is cool, let me know what you think. personally whose ever idea it was to use national landmarks like the Washington Memorial in Washington DC, the Manhattan Bridge and some building in Chicago, I think went a step to far. Using the Washington Memorial as a promotional ploy for the The Amazing Spider-Man movie lacks taste. This is a historic landmark, built to commemorate the first U.S. president, General George Washington. And is the world’s tallest stone structure and the world’s tallest obelisk. Using the monument seems pointless since D.C. is not even in any of the films. On top of that putting a popular culture icon (a huge spider) on the memorial to promote a superhero movie just lacks good judgement. I hope they gave the National Park Services a ton of money to help keep up the maintenance of this amazing historic landmark. Though I still feel disappointed that the Washington Monument had to sell out. I think this is opening a can of worms for promotional gimmicks. Check out the videos below of the other cities. Don’t forget to comment. Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday, my sinuses have been bothering me.

The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, Men in Black 3, The Dark Knight Rises, Battleship and Snow White and the Huntsman. In cause you don’t’ grasp the word indie it means “independent”.
