If you haven’t seen the latest Supreme Skateboarding shops guerrilla marketing promos featuring Super model Kate Moss in a box Supreme shirt smoking a cigarette then you probably don’t live in New York City. Anyway Mike Frederiqo is one of my new favorite artist these days. For me that means a lot I don’t really follow street art like I had in the past because it became to water down and generic. But Frederiqo has been blowing up check out his fashion series. His SpongeBob SquarePants art is much like Murakami, Takashi’s super flat style but with SpongeBob as the key ingredient. Frederiqo’s latest piece is a mock-up of the Supreme promo featuring Kate moss as Spongebob “SpongeKate Spongepreme” too funny! What do you think?
Young Dutch artist Mike Frederiqo known for his vivid tattooing and graffiti. Fregeriqo has worked with street-wear companies like A Bathing Ape for their Bape’s Soup Collection. His latest paintings include Nickelodeons SpongeBob SquarePants where he uses this cartoon icon in an artist rendition of other notable pop artist. Here you see SpongeBob as to fashion designer Karl Largerfield, rapper/designer Pharrell Williams, photographer Terry Richardson, designer icon Coco Chanel, and Marc Jacobs along with a remake of Takashi Murakami flower characters. Not sure where you can pick these amazing pieces up or if they are even for sale either way very clean lines and great coloring along with a very cool concept dressing up SpongeBob.
