Check out the newest trailer from the legendary Studio Ghibli and Goro Miyazaki’s latest animated feature film “From Up on Poppy Hill” which hits U.S. theaters March 15, 2013.

Set in Yokohama in 1963, as Japan is picking itself up from the devastation of World War II and preparing to host the 1964 Olympics, the story centers on Umi and Shun, two high school kids caught up in the changing times. But a buried secret from their past emerges to cast a shadow on the future and pull them apart. With its rich color palette, stunning exteriors, sun-drenched gardens, bustling cityscapes and painterly detail, From Up on Poppy Hill provides a pure, sincere, and nuanced evocation of the past, and marks yet another creative triumph for Studio Ghibli.

If you have not seen From Up on Poppy Hill produced by Studio Ghibli and directed by Hayao Miyazaki’s son Goro. You should it’s based off the Tetsurou Sayama’s 1980 shoujo manga. This nostalgic and romantic story follows a high school girl named Umi Matsuzaka and young boy Shun that live in the port city of Yokohama in 1963. The two become quite close while trying to save a Culture Club the city is trying to destroy but later find out that maybe siblings.
