Radio Disney Music Awards Creates Vinylmation-Inspired ‘Ardy’ Mascot

Check out this behind-the-scene look at the creation of the Vinylmation-Inspired ‘Ardy’ for Radio Disney Music Awards which premieres on April 27, 2013 in Los Angeles, California. The event will feature live performances from some of Radio Disney’s biggest stars voted by Radio Disney fans. The fan-selected stars will receive an “Ardy,” the award name chosen by fans on Radio Disney’s official Facebook page. Designed by artist Lin Shih at Disney Design Group in Florida check out how he designed this iconic award below.

Fans can try designing their own Vinylmation including creating your own custom “Ardy” through the Disney Create portal on Disney.com.

I don’t normally post about custom Vinylmation’s but I really liked Annemarie Brown’s customs based off Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki animated films. Yubaba, “Spirited Away”, Howl & Calcifer, “Howl’s Moving Castle”, Kiki & Jiji (above), “Kiki’s Delivery Service”, Porco, “Porco Rosso”, Mini blue totoro, “My Neightbor Totoro” Mei, “My Neighbor Totoro”, Baby Boh (and Mouse Form) “Spirited Away”, The Baron, “The Cat Returns” Arriety, “The Secret of Arriety”, Ponyo, “Ponyo”, No-Face, “Spirited Away” and San/ Moro (w/ Jr. Kodamas) “Princess Mononoke”. It was very hard to pick out my favorite one but If I had to choose it would be Kiki’s Delivery Service. I love how you can see Jiji in the ear so cute!

The 20th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Marathon kicks off this weekend January 10-13, 2013 presented by Cigna. There will be a variety of 20th Anniversary merchandise items available during the weekend, and Vinylmation wont be a stranger in this event.

Disney artist Maria Clapsis designed one 3-inch Vinylmation Mickey Mouse figure in his running attire. The figure has a space where a participant can write in her or his finishing time.

Anyone running in the Walt Disney World Marathon this weekend? I wish I was!

Japan’s NHK television station mascot DOMO is making headlines in toys new today with a possible collaboration with POP Vinyl, but this is just not any cross over the two will be teaming up with DC Comics. The collaboration will feature DOMO in various iconic DC Comic characters. My favorite is the Dark Knight one of course!

So continuing through the end of Fashion Week Disney’s Vinylmation has revealed the first mold in the “Cutesters in Vogue” series. Starting with Minnie Mouse inspired by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961). Dressed in the iconic evening gown of black Italian satin paired with black elbow-length gloves designed by Hubert de Givenchy. More pictures to come stay posted!

You have to check out these amazing sketches for the upcoming holiday campaign, a collaboration from Barneys and The Walt Disney Co. titled “Electric Holiday.” The collection is set to unveil to the public November 14, 2012, with new merchandise (like vinylmations) only available through authorized specialty store’s and Barneys. If you happen to be in New York area to commemorate the event the Madison Avenue flagship store will feature a three-dimensional electric moving art light show along with a short film in the window display. Turning Disney’s most favorite memorable characters into runway supermodels! with an original score by Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino this is an event you can’t miss! To hype up the Star Wars Celebration VI, Disney Theme Park Merchandise will be attending the fan event at the Orange County Convention Center from August 23-26, 2012. And bringing exclusive items one of which will be a 3-inch Vinylmation figure of Princess Leia as a hologram. This figure is a limited edition only 2,500 piece made. And is a variant figure to the Leia figure found in Vinylmation – Star Wars #2 series (which will also debut at the event on August 23 and will later be sold at Disney Parks). The resale value on the went through the roof right after the Comic Con. And those lucky to have profited from them or where just lucky enough to have added them to their collection. Left everyone leaving the San Diego Comic Con very happy. The list goes from 1 to 20, 20 being the number 1 toy of SDCC 2012.
