My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, there are so many remakes of classic 80′s cartoons it’s hard to keep track of all of them. Surprisingly I’ve only been reading good things about the re-adaptations of the classic 80′s cult classic the My Little Ponies and thought I would share some insight.

Here a brief synopsis of the cartoon is produced by Hasbro and by Lauren Faust who has worked on a variety of popular cartoon series. The main cast is composed of 6 ponies. There are 3 kinds of ponies: “Earth Ponies” which don’t have any kind of special magical powers such as flying. “Pegasus Ponies” these ponies have wings. Then there are the horned “Unicorn Ponies”. All are special in their own ways and bring harmony with in the group. There’s also Princess Celestia and Princess Luna who have both wings and horns. The story follows the main characters Rainbow Dash, a tomboyish Pegasus pony who helps control the weather, Rarity, a glamorous Unicorn with a flair for fashion design, Fluttershy, a shy Pegasus pony who is quite fond of animals, Pinkie Pie, a hyperactive pony who loves throwing parties and Applejack, a hard-working pony on her apple farm at the outskirts of Ponyville. The show is currently in its second season and airs on Hub and Cartoon Network.

The New Year will be busting of the seems with new cartoon’s comics and animated movies! to start off 2012 Fox will be re-introducing and adding to its Animation Domination line up. The super geek Napoleon Dynamite but this time as an animates television series which will be overseen by the 2004 film’s director Jared Hess and writer/producer Mike Scully from The Simpsons. Napoleon Dynamite makes its debut on Sundays at 8:30 pm starting on January 15, 2012.

One of the great things about the animated Napoleon Dynamite is that they brought the original cast members from the 2004 movie to voice the animated characters on Heder, Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez, Tina Majorino, Sandy Martin, Jon Gries and Diedrich Bader. The cartoon literately brings you back to adventures of Napoleon Dynamite following his family and friends, as they concur every day life obstacles in the rural state of Idaho.

That curious monkey named George is back with a holiday movie marathon on PBS Kids starting November 23, 2011. The Curious George Holiday Spectacular on PBS KIDS will showcase three great movies for the whole family can enjoy Curious George broadcast movie premiere starring Will Ferrell and Drew Barrymore and to continue the monkey-movie marathon Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey and A Very Monkey Christmas.

Curious George (2006) is a traditional animated film with twenty percent of it takes place in 3D environments is an adaptation of the children’s stories by H.A. and Margret Rey. Directed by Matthew O’Callaghan. This was Universal’s first theatrically released feature-length animated film since 1995′s Balto. It was Imagine Entertainment’s first animated film.

Popular HBO TV show Game of Thrones, created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss has partnered up with Dark Horse Deluxe. To create a product line of branded magnets, patches, playing cards, coaster sets, and with works of other licensing items such as statues, busts, action figures, prop and jewelry replicas, bar-ware, stationery, and other collectibles hitting stores now and more items dropping spring of 2012.

The wait is not over but at least we get a sneak peek for whats in store this Spring on Cartoon Network. One of the most anticipated animated series featured at the New York Comic Con back October. A one hour special “DC Nation” premiers on Cartoon Network 11-11-11 at 7pm Eastern time with a special intro for the Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Green Lantern is a CGI animated action/adventure, science-fiction TV series set to release a total of 26 episodes the first season geared for Spring 2012.

Developed by Bruce Timm, Giancarlo Volpe and Jim Krieg, Green Lantern: The Animated Series based on DC Comics‘ superhero Green Lantern and will be the first show based on the Green Lantern. The series follows the adventures of Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, Kilowog, the Red Lanterns, villain Atrocitus, and the Manhunters.

MTV Beavis and Butt-Head hit it off last week, millions of new views were glued to the tube to re-live the early 90′s Liquid Television re-vamp. A new generation set eyes for the first time on what most of us grew up on back in 1993 by Mike Judge. Skateboard company Stussy has teamed up with Judd and dropped its latest collaboration capsule collection consisting of limited-edition sweatshirts and tees featuring Beavis and Butt-Head available November 14, 2011 in stores and online. I don’t know about any of you but I was definitely rocking a Stussy tee and watching the original Beavis and Butt-Head on the original Liquid Television… I hope we get to catch Daria in the new episodes.
