DreamWorks Troll Dolls Franchise
DreamWorks Animation has acquired the IP for the one of the United States’ biggest toy fads from the early 1960s that has reemerge every decade since with increasing popularity, Troll Dolls. Originally created in 1959 by Danish woodcutter Thomas Dam made out of disparity for his daughter when he could not afford to buy Christmas gifts. Along with this news DreamWorks has named Shawn Dennis as head of brand development to cultivate the franchise. DreamWorks made this announcement yesterday saying it has “big plans” for the iconic brand with no further details. In 2003, the Toy Industry of America put Trolls on its list of One Hundred of the Century’s Most Treasured Toys. This all coincides with the upcoming DreamWorks film titled Trolls is scheduled to be released on June 5, 2015.
Skylanders SWAP FORCE Exclusive Pre Toy Fair Preview, Blast Zone, Countdown and Wash Buckler
Moresay was lucky enough to get an exclusive sneak peek at the brand new Skylanders SWAP FORCE that will be making its exclusive debute at the 2013 New York Toy Fair next week. Skylanders is “mixing it up” with the newest game SWAP FORCE which builds upon the success of the franchise’s signature gameplay and collectible toy experience and adds a dimension to the “toys to life” innovation. Plus taking you on all-new adventure in the mysterious Cloudbreak Islands.
Skylanders SWAP Force features new abilities – such as flying, climbing, digging, bouncing and teleporting that can be used on previous characters. SWAP Force also introduces you to an all-new play pattern with dynamic swapability allowing gamers reconfigure 16 SWAP Force inter-action figures, into more than 250 unique characters by swapping the top and bottom halves of the toys. Using the new characters in fun new combinations like Wash Buckler, Magna Buckler which is a mix of Magna Charge’s energy blast attack with Wash Buckler’s tentacles (picture below).
Skylanders Giants, the sequel to Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure is the #1 best-selling kids’ game of 2012. Activision figures have outsold the top action figure lines in the toy category in the U.S., outselling such popular toy lines as Beyblades, WWE and Star Wars.
Activison Skylanders SWAP Force will be featured at Toy Fair 2013, February 10-13 at the Javits Center in New York City, in booth 3061.

Funko x Disney Mystery Minis Blind Boxes
Funko has announced a new set of Disney Mystery Minis blind boxes featuring beloved Disney and Pixar characters. First set is slated for release February 2013, the minis are 2.5-inches vinyl figures priced at $5.95 each.
The first set will include Tinkerbell, Maleficent, Mike Wazowski, Sulley, Jack Skellington, Pooh Bear, Stitch, and Mickey Mouse. Each character will have three versions with different poses and expressions.

Mega Bloks Power Rangers Megaforce – 2013 New York Toy Fair Preview
The New York Toy Fair is literally just around the corner and Mega Bloks is giving us a sneak peek at the new Mega Bloks Power Rangers Megaforce line which will be hitting stores this Spring.
Mega Bloks Power Rangers Megaforce is getting a revamp from the ground-up with a focus on action and battle poses with ball joints and added articulation.
Making the new figures easy to manipulate even while it’s attached to block pegs.

Thundercats Minimates – Spring 2013
Thundercats official Facebook page has revealed pictures of the upcoming third series of Thundercats Minimates, as you ca see they are really coming together. This new set will feature core Minimates cats, Cheetara, Tygra, Wily Kat, Burbil and accessories.
No word yet on when this set will be released but looks for them Spring 2013.

Cimon-Art x Swarovski – Crystal Star Wars Walker @ NYC Concept Store
Cimon-Art collaborates with LEGO again with a new collection called “Little Love Stories,” featuring a AT-AP Walker: All-Terrain Attack Pod sculpture adorned with dazzling Swarovski Crystals.
Cimon-Art work who is renowned for his captivating LEGO sculptures, is being displayed at Swarovski Crystallized New York’s concept store. The AT-AP Walker: All-Terrain Attack Podo is part of the five pieces solely made from LEGO and sparkling Swarovski crystals.

MLE Good Guys Child’s Play 2 Medicom Collection
I was 9 years old when I saw first saw Child’s Play and let me tell you I was scared of my pants, every red headed doll from there on out gave me the heebie jeebies now almost 20 years later the franchise teams up with Medicom. The collaboration features bags, pencils cases, travel bags, coin purse, pillows cases, my favorite the mugs and so on. The MLE Good Guys Child’s Play 2 collection drops January 2013. Bandai x Disney “King Robo” Chogokin Line Toy
This news has been all over the internet so I thought I would share if you still haven’t heard. Disney and Japanese toy-maker Bandai have collaborated on a Voltron-like collectable toy called “King Robo” part of the Bandai’s Chogokin line. The toy has a story behind it where Mickey Mouse and his pals are the crew inside the robot (Maybe this could turn into a new anime?). “King Robo” will be released sometime in March 2013.
