This past weekend flawless beauty Christina Ricci made a special guest appearance for the sneak peek screening of THE SMURFS 2 in conjunction with the Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation and Tribeca Family Festival. Ricci is the voice of Vexy, a smart and mischievous Smurf-like “Naughty” created by Gargamel (Hank Azaria) Evil Wizard and sworn enemy of The Smurfs. Check out more pictures below.

5th Annual Summer of Sony: SMURFS 2!
Columbia Pictures takes the Smurfs gang and the Naughties on a belated break to Cancun Mexico to promote at the 5th Annual Summer of Sony: SMURFS 2! The cast and crew Katy Perry, Hank Azaria, and Neil Patrick Harris enjoyed the surf, turf, and Smurf alongside director Raja Gosnell and producer Jordan Kerner enjoyed photos ops in the beautiful Mexican sun, in front of a huge pop-up Smurf set/backdrop on the beach, which featured a huge Smurf statute a blue replica of the Eiffel Tower. The Smurfs 2 is an upcoming 2013 American 3D family comedy film and a sequel to the 2011 film The Smurfs. Based on The Smurfs comic book series created by the Belgian comics artist Peyo, it will be the second film in the The Smurfs trilogy, produced by Sony Pictures Animation and distributed by Columbia Pictures. The film is being directed again by Raja Gosnell, with all the main cast returning. New cast includes Christina Ricci and J. B. Smoove as members of the Naughties, and Brendan Gleeson as Patrick Winslow’s stepfather. The film is set for release on July 31, 2013. R.I.P Jonathan Winters who voiced Papa Smurf died on April 11, 2013.

Check out the latest trailer for The Smurfs 2! that hits theaters July 31, 2013. The new trailer only shows a bit of new footage, honestly they should have added a bit more but we do get a quick glimpse at naughty Smurfette. Check out the trailer below.
Smurfs 2 is a sequel to the hybrid live action/animated family blockbuster comedy The Smurfs, the evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. Schleich x Sony Pictures Animation: The Smurfs 2 Figurines
At this years New York Toy Fair I swung by the Schleich booth and got a chance to check out the new Smurfs figurines inspired by the upcoming Sony Pictures Animation latest feature film The Smurfs 2 the sequel to the 2011 animated movie. The new line of Schleich Smurfs figures features new characters Vexy and Hackus plus all the regulars Papa Smurf, Gargamel & Azrael, Vanity, Smurfette also new is the Smurf set, based off The Smurfs 2 movie of 2013.
Sony Pictures Animation The Smurfs 2 movies hits theaters July 31, 2013. And you can find the Schleich Smurfs at authorized dealers around the world starting in May. Check out more pictures below.

The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, has announced the 2012 winners of its Annie Awards were last night and here is the complete list of winners. Also one of the highlights of the event was Terry Gilliam accepting his Winsor McCay Award via video and the very cool special Texas Avery Award statue for life achievement to June Foray best known as the voice of animated characters as Lucifer (Cinderella), Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Granny, Natasha Fatale and Magica De Spell.
Goodnight Mr. Foot Animated Short – Hotel Transylvania Bonus
Goodnight Mr. Foot, directed by Genndy Tartakovsky is a short film based off Big Foot from Hotel Transylvania. Done in traditional animation Goodnight Mr. Foot premiered as Halloween bonus on October 26, 2012 exclusively ahead of Hotel Transylvania. The short stared the voice cast of Rose Abdoo as Witch Maid and Corey Burton as Bigfoot. Tartakovsky created the short in four weeks during the final production stages of the main film. The short stars Bigfoot, whose rest in Hotel Transylvania is being constantly disturbed by an overly enthusiastic witch maid.
