Walt Disney Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Pixar Animation Studios and Alphaville Film Company latest 3D science fiction action adventure collaborative film John Carter is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ 11-volume Barsoom series.The film is directed by Andrew Stanton, written by Stanton, Mark Andrews, and Michael Chabon, produced by Jim Morris, Colin Wilson, and Lindsey Collins, and scored by Michael Giacchino In the film, former Confederate captain John Carter is transported to Mars (“Barsoom”). There he becomes part of a conflict between the various nations of the planet, whose leaders include Tars Tarkas and Princess Dejah Thoris. Carter takes it upon himself to save Barsoom and its people. The film is being distributed by and will be released in the United States on March 9, 2012. The film will be released in Digital 3D and IMAX 3D format.

Inspired by the children’s book by Judi Barrett and Ron Barrett. Sony Pictures Animation, presents it’s third theatrical, 3D computer animated film. In its 2.35:1 aspect ratio, will drop September 18, 2009 in 3D and IMAX select theaters. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs drops September 18, 2009, giving homage to parody disaster movies: Twister, Armageddon, and The Day After Tomorrow. The story plot follows the story about two children who hear, a story about a town called Chewandswallow, from their Grandpa Henry. Where in Town of Chewandswallow, the weather is always food and beverage! and comes three times a day, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Production of the film started in 2006 by Sony Pictures Animation and now is being distributed by Columbia Pictures. In collaboration with co-director by Chris Miller and co-writer Philip Lord. The film features the voices of Bill Hader (Inventer: Flint Lockwood), Anna Faris (Weather girl: Sam Sparks), Bruce Campbell, James Caan, Bobb’e J. Though, with much of the Akira movie still being shrouded in a cloak of mystery, fans cannot help but speculate on what to expect. Will Leonardo DiCaprio actually have a role? Will Tetsuo’s famous fight with the milk crying teddy bear remain intact? Will Kaneda be Japanese unlike the Dragonball live action??

This is what we do know about the movie:
1) Kaneda’s famous bike is in it
2) It’s set in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan
3) It will be awesome.. or so we hope!

I will continue to provide updates on the status of this blockbuster as I get it. In the meantime, pop in the Akira DVD and fantasize about what life will be like after the live action release!

Cartoon Network is up dating it’s image with an all new line up of kids programming, combining live-action and animation with all. Earlier this month CN announced two new cartoons production on Regular Show and Horrorbots will join, the journey-themed animation The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Adventure Time.
CN’s two new animated programs includes: Regular Show which follows the strange lives of two, groundskeepers Mordecai a blue jay and Rigby, a raccoon, created by J. G. Quintel. Horrorbots, is about two high school outsider teenage droids, Thrasher and Blastus on the planet Killglobe, created by Michael Buckley and Joe Deasy, along with co-executive producer Christy Karacas.
CN has renewed Flapjack for additional episodes for a total of forty-six episodes. Flapjack is about a washed-up pirate-explorer Captain K’nuckles along with his sailor-boy predecessor Flapjack and their crazy adventures through the sea, with no shortage of candy! An Adventure Time, which has not aired yet on CN has been given the go-ahead for additional episode write-ups as well. Both cartoons will be produced at Cartoon Network Studios with a 2010 premiere.

The SuperFrog Gallery in SF this past weekend recently held a reception for Japanese Pop Artist and illustrator Yoshitaka Amano.Opening night consisted of Yoshitaka Amano him self along with Harajuku Lolitas hosted the event. The General Consul of Japan, Junichi Ihara also attended the event with a reception honoring Amano after the exhibit. The SuperFrog Gallery is the latest addition to San Fransisco Japantown. The gallery equipped with state of the art theater with to amazing levels of Japanese boutiques perfect for any kawaii lover!

Namco Bandai panel at this years Gamescom 2009, revealed new future collaborations with new partners: game developers Ninja Theory and Game Republic.
Ninja Theory is known for developing the hit PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword. During the press panel Game Republic president Yoshiki Okamoto discussed the first two games from the Namco Bandai partnership. The first title is an action game is based on the Clash of the Titans movie from Warner Bros. due out next year and the second is an action/adventure game called Majin. Both titles will be for PS3 and Xbox 360 and will be releasing in Spring of 2010.
