Disney’s Club Penguin Marvel Super Hero Takeover Event

Disney’s game website for kids called Club Penguin on Thursday (tomorrow) April 25, 2013, is teaming up with Marvel for the second Marvel Super Hero Takeover event. Club Penguin members can login and dress up like their favorite Marvel Super Heroes…or Super Villains, to fight to save, or destroy, Penguintropolis. Check out the exclusive first look at two of the 27 Marvel costumes Red Hulk and Iron Spider that will be available starting tomorrow. Check them out below.
Hirohiko Araki x Gucci Manga

Popular Japanese manga artist Hirohiko Araki has teamed up with Gucci to unveil an exclusive window installation. Inspired by Frida Giannin’s cruise collection by Gucci called “Jolyne, Fly High With Gucci.”
The Araki x Gucci window installation will be shown in more than 70 of the company’s stores around the world from today to mid-February.
In addition to the colorful windows, Gucci will be launching a multimedia campaign, that will include videos as well as a full publication of Araki’s Manga story in the Japanese publication Spur and on Gucci’s Facebook page.

Unpublished Osamu Tezuka World War II Comic

A cartoon recently discovered dating back to the World War II (1928-29) maybe the art of Japan’s most renowned and beloved manga artists Osamu Tezuka. The untitled, 19-page comic certainly looks like his art, sources say that Tezuka likely gave the unpublished comic to a friend when he was in junior high school. The comic depicts a university professor who decides to solve the food shortage problem after seeing starving people at a black market. He organizes an important conference attended by all the professors at his university. An official announcement of the appraisal results will come next week from Tezuka Productions. Karl Lagerfeld x Shu Uemura: Animated Video

Check out the recent collaboration from Karl Lagerfeld and Shu Uemura featuring an animated video of the birth of Mon Shu girl in Lagerfeld Manga Vision. Karl Lagerfeld’s new makeup line for Shu Uemura features artwork made from actual eyeshadow and kohl from the 17-piece collection. The hand-drawn mascot character – Mon Shu girl French nickname “mon chou” is inspired by Japanese manga. The full cosmetic collection hits U.S. stores and online this October 2012, prices will range from $27.00 – $105.00. Check out the video and pictures of the entire collection below.
Pepsi Nex Zero One Piece Bottle Top Toy Collection

More super news from Pepsi Nex in Japan and one of its latest collaboration campaign with Toei Animation come together to give out One Piece Toys with the purchase of a Pepsi Nex bottle. Follow the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy who gains elastic abilities after eating a supernatural fruit along with his crew of pirates, named the Straw Hat Pirates. There are 24 piece in the One Piece collections so collect them all!
Japan Post Dragon Ball Kai Postage Stamps

If you are the lucky few that live in Japanese the postal service has recently announced a new issuance of postage stamps inspired by Dragon Ball Kai anime series. The set is the 17th in Japan Post’s “Anime Hero Heroine Series.” Previous stamps in the series have included Patlabor, Pokémon, Gundam, Galaxy Express 999, Detective Conan, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Future Boy Conan, and Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi. The stamps Dragon Ball Kai Stamps hit Japanese post offices January 23, 2012 each sheet will features two stamps of Vegeta, three stamps of Son Goku, two stamps of Son Gohan, two stamps of Piccolo, and Trunks. The branches of Japan Post will also stamp envelopes with special Dragon Ball Kai date stamps of Son Goku.
Jean Reno As Doraemon For Toyota Comercial

Jean Reno from The Professional plays the role of a live-action Doraemon in the next Toyota ad campaign featuring Satoshi Tsumabuki as Nobita and Naoya Ogawa as Gian. If you’re not familiar with Doraemon: Gadget Cat from the Future. Is a Japanese manga series created by Fujiko F. Fujio about an ear-less robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a Nobita Nobi a young schoolboy. Kristen Stewart as Kei In The Live-Action Akira Movie

A live-action american adoption based off the 1988 manga Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo is getting a lot of buzz since word of offering Kristen Stewart the role as Kei, a woman who is part of an underground movement that’s sol purpose is to expose the government for experimenting on orphans turning them into weapons of mass destruction. Stewart as Kei has come to a disappointed to many Akira fans due the film not casting Japanese stars and moving the movie from Neo-Tokyo to New Manhattan. In the anime the city was destroyed by a boy named Akira, who had psychic/supernatural powers. No word yet on who may play Akira other possible cast members for the film include, Garret Hedlund Kaneda, the main character and leader of a biker gang, Gary Oldman as the Colonel and Helena Bonham Carter as Lady Miyako.
