Kimba the White Lion ジャングル大帝, created by Osamu Tezuka, produced by Tezuka Productions and Mushi Productions, was the first color anime series to debut in Japan in the 60s. Before the anime the Jungle Emperor was first published in Manga Shōnen magazine in 1950.

Nickelodeon Magazine canceled June 2009

Well Nickelodeon mag fans it’s time to say good bye, this will be the last month to pick on the kids cartoon magazine loaded with all your favorite Nickelodeon characters.This months issues featured a special 3-d comics and glasses, news about the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Night at the Museum: Battle for the Museum.  So if you haven’t picked up the July issue yet, you better scoop it up while it’s still on the shelves.

Viacom nick’s parent company is shutting down Nickelodeon Magazine due to the loss of readers to the internet. This will effect the freelance journalists that contributes and about 30 layoffs in company. Nickelodeon Magazine launched in 1993 and was an important promotional platform for the children’s cable network.

The international filming took place in California, Prague, Australia, the Sahara, the Arctic, Paris, Moscow, and Washington, D.C.

Smile Magazine December 1998, TOKYOPOP

Smile Magazine was supposed to be a mainstream teen mag similar to Seventeen, aimed at teenage girls but with manga with a special emphasize on Sailor Moon!…

later Smile Magazine became more focused on manga and removed most of its other features. It was discontinued in 2002 and it was published by TOKYOPOP.
