Mondo and Tom Whalen Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century Looney Tunes Art

Tom Whalen and Mondo have produced a contemporary limited edition movie poster of classic cartoon Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century which will be its first Looney Tunes print. Part of Mondo’s debut Science Fiction themed exhibition in its new gallery space at 4115 Guadalupe Street in Austin. There will be almost 40 pieces of original art and screenprints from more than 30 artists. Whalen began creating cartoon posters for Mondo early 2011 when the company’s first Disney piece was released. A black, white and silver screenprint of 1928 Disney short Steamboat Willie printed by DL Screenprinting. The Duck Dodgers piece is limited to 320 made at the price of $40.OO USD. Which by now are probably sold out by now. Other Mondo/Whalen collaborations include Disney animated features and shorts, 1934 The Wise Little Hen, 1940 Pinocchio, 1988 Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, 1937 Lonesome Ghosts, 2011 Rango and 2001 Monsters, Inc. a Pixar film. Plush check out his Star Wars art. Whalen inspired by comic-book artists as John Romita, Jr., Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, Mike Mignola and Art Adams. Bugs Bunny Nike Air Jordan VII “Hare” Space Jam

I’m sure everyone knows that Bugs Bunny is comedian who likes to play basketball…right? But did you know he is a sneaker-head? Here is the Nike Air Jordan VII “Hare” solid mold prop sculpture. Featured in all white with burgundy accents and a super long tong (ear?) These shoes were shaped to fit Bugs’s big bunny feet. Which were used to promote the 1996 Michael Jordan’s Space Jam movie by Warner Bros. Family Entertainment. Which if you did not know was the first the debut of Lola Bunny. Hiphopcaliber (were these pictures came from) stated to SneakerNews. That they were samples that were meant to be thrown away but some lucky duck got to buy them off some store manager. Very neat prop indeed.

Warner Brothers Looney Tunes Food Truck

Did anyone else see the Looney Tunes food truck ridding around New York City this past week? Here is a picture of the truck in front of the Times Warner Center, featuring the Looney Tunes Show on Cartoon Network. Super cool periwinkle blue truck featuring all your favorite Looney Tunes characters and maybe some Merrie Melodies guys too? The Looney Tunes truck was probably there to support the 2012 New York Toy Fair. I wish I could see these types of food trucks all the time.

New Looney Tunes cartoon short Daffy’s Rhapsody debuts in theaters nationwide on February 10, 2012, in 3D and IMAX (as well as 2D) along with family adventure film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures. This the second of a new series of three original 3D theatrical cartoons from Warner Bros.
