World Record LEGO Tower Celebrating LEGO’s 80th Birthday

A World Record is broken with the worlds tallest LEGO Tower 31.9m which was part of the celebration of LEGO Group’s 80th birthday. The LEGO tower was built out of 500,000 bricks, 4,000 children contest winners and 5 days of building time in Seoul Korea’s Olympic City Stadium. LEGO’s have a strong presence in Korea considering it was the first branded toy in the Korean market. The record was broken on Sunday, May 13th 2012. Check out this momentous event below.

LEGO Hair Styles Mindplay Bricks on Me Campaign by Elroy Klee

Check out these new LEGO inspired hair styles by holland-based design studio Elroy Klee using the building blocks of LEGO’s to create fashionable hairstyles of an african afro, short crop and blonde layers, using only black, red and yellow pieces. Which were fitted to the portions of the models heads, meaning they could not move in risk of losing the LEGO wig. Which hair style is your favorite? I like the red.

LEGO is getting loads of press has anyone else noticed? If you caught this past weekends ( April 29, 2012 ) of The Simpsons Season 23, Episode 19 titled “A Totally Fun Thing Bart Will Never Do Again” you would have seen a split-second segment of Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. Instructing, eyes closed, a group of nine pupils. Holding a couple of LEGO-bricks in his left hand while seeming to fix something to the back of the building. A CCTV also known as China Central Television made out of LEGO-bricks.
Game of Thrones A Clash of LEGO’s

Have you seen the stop-motion animation a LEGO homage to HBO’s popular TV drama the Game of Thrones? The LEGO’s remake of the opening sequence is pretty amazing. A Clash of LEGO’s is created by MathewP and Monica Garcia. Even thought I am a fan of LEGO’s, I have personally never caught an episode of the Game of Thrones, but from my understanding it a gained cult status. LEGO My Little Pony Minifigures Miniponies Concept

Artist Addam from LEGO Cuusoo has assembled an amazing concept that will definitely hit the hearts of little girls and bronies! check out his LEGO concept creation, pony shaped minifigures aka miniponies, inspired by Lauren Faust’s cult TV series My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. Pictured below and above is a Rainbow Dash figure design other concepts include Fluttershy and Big Macintosh. The ponies would be customizable with wings or different hairpiece. The unicorn horn would be part of the hairpiece. The buildings could include: Sugarcube corner, Twilight’s tree-house, Apple family barn and so much more! Addam has captured the look and feel of My Little Pony as a potential LEGO model. With the popularity of the new show, I think people would definitely want a LEGO My Little Pony tribute. If Addam reaches 10,000 supporters, he will have a secure license. So vote for him today!
