This past weekend Universal Pictures unveiled its latest marketing campaign for llumination Entertainment Despicable Me 2, a giant minion called “Despicablimp”! That is headed on a cross-country trip to promote the film which releases into theaters July 3, 3013. You can track/follow through the Despicablimp Command Center. While you’re there you can enter to win a trip for 4 to the World Premiere of Despicable Me 2 in Los Angeles where you will get a chance to ride in the gigantic, Despicablimp! The video below is a time-lapse of the Despicablimp getting a custom paint job after being gassed up then being launched into the sky. Illumination x Universal: Minions Spin-Off Slated for 2014
Word is out that another spin-off is in the works for Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment featuring the Minions from the Despicable Me movies. The new film will only feature the gibberish speaking, yellow-suited creatures who work for the villainous Gru (Steve Carell). The movie is set to release some time in 2014. There is not much details on film as of yet other than the script is by Brian Lynch who has worked around the fact that these little creatures don’t speak English. Also Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda are sharing directing responsibilities. Are you excited about the new film?

The grand opening isn’t untill July 2, 2012, but there is tons of mayhem that has already begun around the park! The minions are taking over the entire destination! with an all-new storyline, incredible animation plus the latest 3D technology. You will be trapped in whirlwind of hysterical proportions and unforgettable experience. From funny little yellow characters from the hit Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s blockbuster film, Despicable Me. Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem Exterior and  New Merchandise @ Universal Orlando
Here is a look at the new Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem attractions at Universal Orlando which is set to open this summer. The new entrance features a ton of detail, straight from the movie. The house pictured is the entrance to the attractions and rides, which resembles Gru’s house from the The Despicable Me film. To help promote the up coming attractions the Minion Mayhem gift shop has already opened and is filled with new Minion merchandise at the Studio store. Check out the video below oh and I posted a few pictures below of the merch. My favorite is the all of Minion print tee in yellow and the “chillin like a villain” tee. Illumination Entertainment is ready to take on another challenge bring to life the 1940′s cartoon from Ben Hardaway Woody Woodpecker! In an all new fully animated film, Christopher Meledandri who is producing the film added writers John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky to the writing script. This should be interesting and will open the door to a whole new set of generations to come. Considering Altschuler and Krinsky, are best known for their work on the “Beavis and Butthead” and “King of the Hill.” And if you didn’t know Woody Woodpecker was originally voiced by icon Mel Blanc (1940–1941) who also voiced Bugs Bunny.
