I never understood what all the hype was about regarding Kiehl’s products other than they became very popular practically over night. I guess collaborating with big names like KAWS and Jeff Koons for Limited Edition “cremes” probably helped. Another artist to add to the rooster this holiday season. Is Pop Surrealist Kenny Scharf whose art will grace the “men who moisturize” fanclub with his piece “Globo Mundo” which will adorn Kiehl’s bottles. Profits from Scharf’s collection will support RxArt. You can get these now through Kiehl’s site now. Lotions starting from $30 to $75 USD.
DreamWorks Animation SKG Donates $90 Million
DreamWorks Animation SKG founders Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen each donate $30 million to the Motion Picture and Television Fund. Witch will total $90 Million to a Hollywood charity that offers support to seniors and health services for members of the entertainment industry. Other notable donors include actor Kirk Douglas and his wife Anne, who pledged $20 million, and Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., which pledged $20 million.

Starting today the Darkness & Light: Art Inspired by Heroes & Villains, Hope & Heroism Exhibition opens to the public for free (donation suggested) till October 14, 2012 at the Time Warner Center. This one-of-a-kind art/education tour is to raise awareness and funds for the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa. Featuring original and exclusive art by Jim Lee and many other comic book artist. The exhibition reminds us what is possible when we tap into our own super hero qualities to be of service to people in need. This is a show you don’t want to miss!
Caine’s Arcade and Imagination Foundation: Global Cardboard Challenge
Here is a follow up video of to the original Caine’s Arcade short film. Within a short 5 months, Caine’s Arcade had gone global inviting celebrities and people around the world to play and be inspired by the cardboard creativity of Caine. To continue the success and inspiration, a group called the Imagination Foundation, has started its own Global Cardboard Challenge check it out and play! Watch the video below.
Rovio’s Angry Birds “Freddie For A Day” Celebrating Freddie Mercury
Starting off the week celebrating the memory and birthday (September 5) one my favorite singers/personalities of all time Freddie Mercury! starting today the creators of Angry Birds are releasing an all-new animation of Freddie the Angry Bird riding his bicycle to the famous Queen track “Bicycle Race.” The video will be made available on Rovio’s YouTube channel and Angry Birds Freddie For A Day. I posted the link video below! in addition the Mercury Phoenix Trust, and Angry Birds in partnership with Bravado will be releasing a limited-edition Freddie Mercury Angry Bird T-shirt. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Mercury Phoenix Trust. Freddie Mercury would have been a mere 66 years old this week.
