Google Doodle celebrates and pays homage to Keith Haring! Born May 4, 1958 and died February 16, 1990. Mentored by Andy Warhol, Haring was an artist and social activist inspired by the New York City graffiti street culture of the 1980s.

It’s funny how even we want so badly to live in a futuristic society. We keep pulling our selves back into the 80′s will we ever get out this nostalgic rut? Here is the latest 8-bit reminder. This is kinda cool but also pretty boring. There is a new site called Google BBS Terminal that will enable you to do searches on Google as it would have looked in the 80′s. The lame part about this site is the boring dial-up sound and what would have been cool is if the indexed sites were those only available in the 80′s. I post a lot about Google, so I ask you have you ever wanted to work for one of the largest search engine in the world? (I have) but thought to yourself you were not tech enough? Well Google is currently looking for artist not just scientist, engineers and researchers. If you are not familiar with the term Google Doodle then you haven’t been using your Google search engine very much. Ever so soften about once a week you will see a new Google Doodle representing a holiday or celebrating the birth of an inventor, artist or musician that is deceased. But Google Doodle represents a bigger picture, giving great appreciation to things in our culture and around the world. So here is your chance to make it big. Google is looking for the next big Google Doodle Artist check out the requirements below.

The role: Doodler
- Draw, design, and/or animate the highly visible Google homepage doodles.
- Come up with consistently excellent creative ideas within the constraints of the our logo.
- Manage complex collaborative projects from idea, to executive pitches, to final execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Design illustrations both digitally and traditionally and in a wide range of artistic styles with great attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:
- BFA. In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Freehand illustration skills and a wide range of artistic styles.
- Ability to translate conceptual direction into amazing works of art.
- Ability to work collaboratively and apply creative feedback in a team environment.
- Comfort with digital and traditional media.
- Knowledge of animation fundamentals.
- Online portfolio/reel.

Google goes on to say:

If I was a better artist I would be applying to this job.

Wow seriously LEGO‘s are amazing check out this video from a group of Scientists at Cambridge University who will be participating in the Google Science Fair. Listen to how they talk about using LEGO MINDSTORMS to build robots to aid in their research to reproducing or recreating synthetic human bone for the possibility of using those materials for construction of buildings simple incredible. Can you imagine the structure of a highrise made of similar components as a human skeleton? Google Science Fair entries must be submitted by April 1, 2012. Check out the video below.
