Disney Vinylmation Cutesters in Vogue Series Minnie Mouse in Givenchy
So continuing through the end of Fashion Week Disney’s Vinylmation has revealed the first mold in the “Cutesters in Vogue” series. Starting with Minnie Mouse inspired by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961). Dressed in the iconic evening gown of black Italian satin paired with black elbow-length gloves designed by Hubert de Givenchy. More pictures to come stay posted!
Boy by Band of Outsiders Ready-to-Wear Spring 2013 Inspired by Battle Royale
Band of Outsiders‘ Scott Sternberg latest military style collection titled “BOY” is inspired by Japanese cult film/horror novel “Battle Royale.” No make up, no pedicure straight out of a hellish all-girls boarding school drenched in amazing shibori textiles, fluid fabrics, knitted dresses, perfectly cut blazers and pants bound around the ankles with ties. Minnie Mouse is not only taking over the runways this year but she is dabbling in the DNC! Born This Way Foundation x Nike Air Foamposite One “ParaNorman” Auction
In August to promote the release of the ParaNorman stop-motion animated feature, Laika Entertainment teamed up with Nike to produce a very exclusive pair of Nike Air Foamposite One ‘ParaNorman’. A shoe designed to be given away for the “weird kids” Twitter contest, where you had to send in the “weirdest” childhood photo of yourself for a chance of getting a pair. Kate Spade featured her bright colored spring/summer 2013 collection yesterday at New York Fashion Week. With 1950’s inspiration shown mainly on clutches featuring designs like sunglasses, candy boxes, an old fashioned radio and my favorite comic book graphics.
Gaga’s Fiber Optic Wig by Frederic Aspiras Inspired by Disney Princess
Lady Gaga has collaborated with the Haus of Gaga to create a hand-made fiber optic wig by Frederic Aspiras, inspired concept of “Disney Princess at a rave.” Gaga is known for her eccentric stage outfits and her most recent wig creation took the past six months to prefect the look. The wig will be used in her live shows connecting the wig to her lighting board which will allow it to be illuminated at the same time as her music. Much like the Light-Up Mickey ears at World of Color Glow Show. The wig and a “multimedia experience” like no other is set to promote the drop of her third record ‘ARTPOP’ in early 2013 so stay posted!
Phillip Lim’s Comic Book Kill the Night and 3.1 Fall/Winter Collection 2012
Designer Phillip Lim has teamed up with veteran comic book writer John Ostrander and artist Jan Duursema on a fashion-themed comic book titled “Kill the Night.” The comic book coincides with the launch of his Fall/Winter 2012 line that hit stores yesterday and is currently being showcased at the Fashion’s Night Out in New York. The 3.1 collection project is inspired by comic classics such as ‘Sin City’ and ‘V for Vendetta’ the love and betrayal theme a neo-noir heroines tale. Check out more pictures below.
DKNY Madison Avenue’s Fashion’s Night Out Event Featured FDNY Firefighters and Miss Piggy as Official Fire Girl
Last night at DKNY‘S Fashion Night Out Donna Karan invited Jim Henson and Disney‘s superstar diva Miss Piggy to serve as the official Fire Girl in honor of the FDNY 2013 Calendar Of Heroes. Miss Piggy was dressed head-to-hoof in a black DKNY ensemble, at the pre-Fashion’s Night Out event at the DKNY Madison Avenue boutique. NYC based socialite photographer Patrick McMullan shot the annual calendar, and the 13 FDNY firefighters featured in this year’s calendar. With all proceeds from the sale of the calendar as well as a portion of the evening’s sales go to the FDNY Foundation. Check out more pictures below.
