Saturday is FREE Comic Book Day!

Since there is so much going this next couple of days I wanted to send out all these reminders so no one could complain there was nothing to do this weekend! So just to let you know the first Saturday of the month of May is Free Comic Book Day. So go check out your local comic book store see what is in store and don’t be to cheap and not actually buy something too! if you are in New York I have posted some comic book stores that are participating below.

CNBC takes you on a journey though decades of comics taking you deep inside the evolution of comics into Hollywood. The documentary follows famous franchises, like the X-Men and Batman series. With in-depth interviews. Paying attention to blockbusters like Spider-Man and box office bombs Superman Returns. You have to watch this if you are into comics. Tiny Kitten Teeth Hand Painted Online Comic

Well this is something special and you don’t find often with all the digital art out there. If you have not heard of Tiny Kitten Teeth by Becky Dreisdadt and Frank Gibson? it is a hand painted online comic updated a couple of times a week. Introducing you to charters Mewsli, a fish out of water(cat out of water) in Owltown and you follow his adventures in an artsy metropolis. There is also a comic strip called Tigerbuttah, about a baby tiger who is new to the world and has a lot to learn. I personally really just like drawings it’s a fusion of modern design and Little Golden Book. I hope these guys get big.
French Artist Jean Giraud Moebius Dies at 73

French comics artist Jean Giraud born Jean Henri Gaston Giraud also known under the pen name Moebius died from cancer at the age of 73 in Paris today March 10, 2012. Moebius was best known for his unique design work on The Fifth Element. He was the creator of the popular comic strip Lt. Blueberry. Moebius also contributed storyboards and concept designs to other numerous science fiction and fantasy films, including Alien, Willow, Masters of The Universe and Tron. With all this talk about Marvel superheroes don’t forget DC Entertainment is busting out with The Man of Steal another reboot film based off the DC Comics character Superman. Check out a few pictures showcasing the Man of Steals costume for the film that hit theaters and IMAX June 14, 2013. Man of Steel is still in development and is directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Warner Bros. The film was mostly shot in Chicago and follows a young journalist Clark Kent who deals with the struggles of finding his place amongst earthlings and living with his incredible powers.
