Jason Freeny Vinyl Toys My Little Pony

Conceptual artist and cartoon decomposer Jason Freeny recently did an interview where he shows how he dissects his creations. The hand-crafted sculptures and illustrations of characters of My little Pony’s, Yoshi from Super Mario Brothers, Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty, Gummi Bears and Balloon Hot Dogs. He simply wants to give life to the inside of a vinyl toy. His sculptures and drawing seem a bit morbid to the naked eyes but the craftsmanship is right on point. Graffiti Artist Ano like Pokémon Pikachu

Chinese street-artist Ano just posted his latest electrifying graffiti piece from the Kaohsiung Design Festival, featuring everyone’s favorite yellow Pokémon creature Pikachu in a pixelated style. Ano pictured is wearing a Pikachu costume to support the work of art along with special Pokémon ball style spray paint can.

Mike Frederiqo – SpongeBob SquarePants Fashion Series

Young Dutch artist Mike Frederiqo known for his vivid tattooing and graffiti. Fregeriqo has worked with street-wear companies like A Bathing Ape for their Bape’s Soup Collection. His latest paintings include Nickelodeons SpongeBob SquarePants where he uses this cartoon icon in an artist rendition of other notable pop artist. Here you see SpongeBob as to fashion designer Karl Largerfield, rapper/designer Pharrell Williams, photographer Terry Richardson, designer icon Coco Chanel, and Marc Jacobs along with a remake of Takashi Murakami flower characters. Check out the latest Disney’s Pixar PixArt Knick Knack toy concepts design contest inspired by Disney’s Vinylmation and Kidrobot’s Dunny/Munny lines. Artist gets a chance to creating mock toys outlines for possible future toy production. The contest started October 31, 2011 and had a great response with an abundance of ideas featuring character conceptual art by Pixar fans. This month they have featured their 3rd wave in the series 1 of toy designs. The way the contest works is you contact Knick Knack design group with your idea they then send you details on submission along with an Illustrator/Photoshop template to start your design on and then you get to let you’re juices flow.

illy coffee and Galleria illy presented yesterday at the The Betsy hotel in Miami Beach, Florida “Timbaland Presents BollyDoll” by Amrita Sen a 26 piece exhibit of colorful and articulate BollyDoll illustrations, light boxes, scarves along with a musical collaboration with BollyWood Timbaland. The show combined classical Indian traditions with modern multimedia pop art.

The book is a collaboration between animation historian Amid Amidi also known as Cartoon Brew and John Lasseter director and the chief creative officer at Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.The book focuses strongly on the art work so there is not much text other than comments from John Lasseter comparing the styles of art work from the different artist featured, each artist has a their own way of story telling through art.

The LEGO’s comes together…The 8-foot-tall, 100-pound fiberglass statue Lego Man discovered on the Siesta Key Beach in Florida, October 26, 2011 wearing a shirt saying “NO REAL THAN YOU ARE” with the name “Ego Leonard” written on the back. This was all part of an anonymous Dutch artist’s Ego Leonard experiment. Also known as Dutch guerrilla artist Leon Keer who happens to be one of the artist in Sarasota this week participating in the city’s annual chalk festival.
