Community Gets Animated with Abed’s Master Key on Hulu

Has anyone heard of the show “Community” if not it is a live-action show about a study group on NBC. Hulu will be running a three-part animated promotional shorts to promote the new shows which debut later on this month. The animated special entitled Abed’s Master Key will begin airing Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Each promo will run two minutes in length and the actors will lend their voices to their animated characters. Community returns to NBC on Thursday, March 15th at 8/7c. Check out the promo below.

Zarafa Animated Film – 2012 Berlin International Festival

Check out the world premiere of the French-Belgian animated feature film entitled Zarafa which is part of the Berlin International Festival starting February 9 through 19, 2012. Zarafa is a hand-drawn feature by writer/director Remi Bexancon and animator Jean-Christophe Lie they join forces to tell the story of the friendship between a young boy and a baby giraffe in Africa. The film is set to open in France on February 8, 2012. Zarafa is produced by Prima Linea Productions and Chaocorps and distributed by Pathe.
Tom Hanks Playtone Electric City Yahoo Web-Series This Spring

Tom Hanks and Yahoo have teamed up to produce an all new animated web-series called Electric City set to debut this spring. Electric City will also be equipped with interactive features and social media connectivity. The plot follows a civilization of the future with a post-apocalyptic landscape tackling issues like energy and crime. Tom Hanks company Playtone contributes to writing and producing the web-series along with Hanks being the voice of the lead character in the series.

Leaf Men by William Joyce – Blue Sky Studios – May 24, 2012

If you had not heard earlier this year there was a war of studios Pixar and it’s underdog Blue Sky Studios were fighting for the rights to adapt the popular children’s book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs written and illustrated by William Joyce into a 3D animated film. Pixar fell short and Ice Age’s Chris Wedge will next direct Leaf Men with finance through Fox Animation and production from Blue Sky Studios.
The Leaf Men book follows a troop of bugs that try to save a garden from an evil spider queen. The bugs turn to a mythical Leaf Men to help them win the battle. The book is known for its vibrant and detailed illustrations so I can’t wait to see how the animation will turn out.
