1. Puss in Boots: Puss in Boots

A 2011 American computer-animated action comedy film by DreamWorks, based off the much darker Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Voiced by Antonio Banderas Puss in Boots, who originally made his debut in the Shrek film, he then went off to get his own spin-off appropriately tiled Puss in Boots. Puss is a protagonist, a fugitive from the law but also a hero of San Ricardo. Another note worthy cat in the film is Kitty Softpaws played by Salma Hayek a street-savvy, claw-less, Tuxedo cat.

2. 101 Dalmatians : Sergeant Tibbs

A 1961 American animated film produced by Walt Disney and based on the novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith. David Frankham voiced Sergeant Tibbs who is a orange tabby cat, who helps find the puppies in a place called Hell Hall, Cruella’s abandoned and dilapidated family estate.

3. Madagascar: Alex

A 2005 computer-animated comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation. The film tells the story of four Central Park Zoo animals who have spent their lives in blissful captivity and are unexpectedly shipped back to Africa, getting shipwrecked on the island of Madagascar. Alex Lion is voiced by Ben Stiller who is the most popular animal at the Central Park Zoo and extremely fond of eating steaks. Nicknamed The King of New York, he is very happy with life in the zoo.

4. The Smurfs: Azrael

A 2011 American 3D family film by Sony Animation, based on The Smurfs comic book series created by the Belgian comics artist Peyo and the 1980s animated TV series. Frank Welker (who also voiced some of the characters from the 80′s show) is the voice of Azrael, Gargamel’s cat. Four Orange tabby cats played the role of Azrael with some scenes being created with CGI by Tippett Studio. Animal trainer Larry Madrid had a “rare Burma cat” that was used to educe snarls from the other cats since they did not like him.

5. Oliver & Company: Oliver

A 1988 American animated film by Walt Disney, in which a homeless kitten named Oliver joins a gang of dogs to survive on the 1980s New York City streets. The film is inspired by Charles Dickens’ novel Oliver Twist. Joey Lawrence voiced Oliver, a cute orange kitten who is looking for a home.

6. The Lion King Trilogy

A 1994 American animated musical adventure film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The story takes place in a kingdom of anthropomorphic lions in Africa, and was influenced by the biblical tales of Joseph and Moses, and the William Shakespeare plays Hamlet and Macbeth. Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Matthew Broderick as Simba – Mufasa and Sarabi’s son, who becomes King of the Pride Lands. Jason Weaver and Joseph Williams provide Simba’s young and adult singing voices respectively. James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Jeremy Irons as Scar, Niketa Calame and Moira Kelly as Nala.

5. The Aristocats

Is a 1970 American animated feature produced and released by Walt Disney Productions. In Paris, France, in 1910, a mother cat named Duchess and her three kittens, Marie, Berlioz, and Toulouse, live in the mansion of retired opera singer Madame Adelaide Bonfamille and her English butler Edgar. In her will she is states that she wishes for her fortune to be left to her cats, who will retain it until their deaths, upon which her fortune will revert to Edgar. Edgar wants to speed up the process by trying to get rid of her beloved cats. Eva Gabor as Duchess, Phil Harris as Thomas O’Malley (full name: Abraham de Lacy Giuseppe Casey Thomas O’Malley), Scatman Crothers as Scat Cat, Gary Dubin as Toulouse the oldest kitten, Liz English as Marie – As the middle kitten, Dean Clark as Berlioz – the youngest kitten. Five of Disney’s legendary “Nine Old Men” worked on this film.

6. Lady and the Tramp : Si and Am

Is a 1955 American animated film produced by Walt Disney Jim Dear gives his wife Darling a cocker spaniel puppy that they name Lady. Soon after, the two decide to go on a trip together, leaving their Aunt Sarah to look after the baby and the house. Aunt Sarah, however, dislikes dogs, refusing to let Lady near the baby. When Lady clashes with Aunt Sarah’s two trouble-making Siamese cats. Peggy Lee as Si, Am are Aunt Sarah’s two trouble-making Siamese cats, Si and Am.

7. An American Tail: Tiger

Is a 1986 American animated film directed by Don Bluth and produced by Amblin Entertainment. The film tells the story of Fievel Mouskewitz and his family as they immigrate from Russia to then United States for freedom from cats! However, Fievel gets lost and must find a way to reunite with his family. Fievel finds himself in a bit of trouble with the New York City the Mott Street Maulers. But befriends a fun love scaredy-cat named Tiger. Dom DeLuise as Tiger, a very large, cowardly, long-haired orange cat who also happens to be vegetarian, and who helps Fievel find his parents.

8. Alice in Wonderland: Cheshire Cat

Is a 1951 American animated feature produced by Walt Disney one of the most notable charaters from the movie is the Cheshire Cat based off the character by Lewis Carroll. In the animated film Cheshire Cat is voiced by Sterling Holloway. The Cheshire Cat is known for his distinctive mischievous grin and riddling accusations and admonitions. The Cheshire Cat out all the cats listed has had a notable impact on popular culture.

9. Cinderella: Lucifer

Is a 1950 American animated film produced by Walt Disney and based on the fairy tale “Cendrillon” by Charles Perrault. Lucifer was allowed to torment Cinderella through the commands of her Evil. He was one bad kitty always trying to get Gus Gus and Jack and prevent Cinderella from doing her chores. Worst of all he was trying to prevent Cinderella, from escaping the castle tower so she could show the Prince Charming she fit the glass slipper. It is said that in the original story of Cinderella he dies when scared off the castle tower window by Cinderella’s Dog. Lucifer is just a non-speaking typical house-cat.

10. The Secret of NIMH : Dragon the Cat

Is a 1982 animated film directed by Don Bluth in his directorial debut. It is an adaptation of Robert C. O’Brien’s 1971 children’s novel Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. The film was produced by Aurora Pictures. Dragon the Cat is the secondary antagonist in The Secret Of NIMH – he was responsible for killing Mrs. Brisby’s husband prior to the film’s beginning and also came into conflict with Mrs. Brisby herself later in the film. Dragon is a very lazy cat but also a natural enemy of anything small enough to be seen as prey reacting like a typical house-cat.

11. The Great Mouse Detective: Felicia

Is a 1986 animated feature produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation, originally released to movie theaters on July 2, 1986 by Walt Disney Pictures. In London, 1897, a young Scottish mouse named Olivia Flaversham is celebrating her birthday with her toymaker father, Hiram. Suddenly, Fidget, a crippled bat with a peg leg, kidnaps Hiram. Fidget takes Hiram to Professor Ratigan who commands him to create a clockwork robot which mimics the Queen of the Mice so Ratigan can rule England. Fidget to capture Olivia so he can feed her to his pet cat, Felicia.

12. Robin Hood: Prince John

Is an 1973 American animated film produced by the Walt Disney Productions, Prince John is the primary antagonist. He is a lion who usurped his brother, King Richard, and became King of England in the absence of his brother who was fighting in the Crusades. He constantly taxes the poor people of Nottingham for his own benefit and has a habit of sucking his thumb when he gets upset. When King Richard returned from the Crusades he had Prince John and his henchmen put to work breaking rocks as punishment for Prince John’s unfair treatment of the people of Nottingham. Peter Ustinov voiced Prince John and King Richard.

13. Pinocchio: Figaro

Is a 1940 American animated film produced by Walt Disney and based on the story The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. Figaro and Cleo are Geppetto’s tuxedo cat and goldfish, respectively, who do not like each other very much until the end of the film when Pinocchio becomes a real boy. Figaro is just a regular meowing house-cat. Another noteworthy cat is Gideon the sidekick to Honest John Foulfellow and the villain. Gideon is Honest John’s mute and crafty anthropomorphic feline accomplice. His voice was originally to be supplied by Mel Blanc of Looney Tunes fame, but they deleted his dialogue in favor of a mute performance.

14. Cats Don’t Dance : Danny and Sawyer

is a 1997 animated musical film, notable as the only fully animated feature produced by Turner Entertainment. An anthropomorphic cat from Kokomo, Indiana named Danny dreams of becoming a film star, so he travels to Hollywood, California in hopes of starting a movie career there. Scott Bakula is the voice Danny a singing dancing tabby. Another noteworthy cat is Jasmine Guy who voice Sawyer and Natalie Cole was her singing voice, a sassy but pessimistic cat secretary.

15. A Cat in Paris: Cat

Is a 2010 French animated comedy film by the French animation studio Folimage, directed by Alain Gagnol and Jean-Loup. The story is of a young Parisian girl Zoe whose cat leads her to unravel a thrilling mystery over the course of a single evening. The film starts with Nico, a cat burglar who is followed by a black cat. This cat has no name he is the non typical house cat cause he helps Zoe find her father while converting Nico from his burglar ways.

A new animated film titled A Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom from Fox Animation. Based of the concept of non-traditional fairy take like story lines and based off Christopher Healy’s upcoming book
The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom. Healy’s book tells a different story following four “Prince Charming’s” known as Liam, Duncan, Frederic, and Gustav. Kicked out of their castles by their true love princesses. The four embark on a crazy journey together to save each of their kingdoms from an evil force. ached yet.
