Annie Awards 2012 Winners +Texas Avery Award Winner June Foray

The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, has announced the 2012 winners of its Annie Awards were last night and here is the complete list of winners. Also one of the highlights of the event was Terry Gilliam accepting his Winsor McCay Award via video and the very cool special Texas Avery Award statue for life achievement to June Foray best known as the voice of animated characters as Lucifer (Cinderella), Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Granny, Natasha Fatale and Magica De Spell.

Is a 2011 3D adventure drama film based on Brian Selznick’s novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Which follows a boy who lives alone in a Paris railway station. Distributed by Paramount Pictures. Hugo Martin Scorsese Sangs Golden Globe for Best Director for a Motion Picture

Martin Scorsese gets to take home a Golden Globe for Best Director for a Motion Picture for the 3D animated film Hugo. This was Scorsese’s first film shot in 3D based on Brian Selznick’s novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret about a boy who lives alone in a Paris railway station and the enigmatic owner of a toy shop. Hugo was also Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil production company. Congratulations to Martin Scorsese!

Hugo is an upcoming 3D adventure drama film that hits US theaters on November 23, 2011 distributed by Paramount Pictures. Based on Brian Selznick‘s novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret, the movie is directed by Martin Scorsese and written by John Logan, which is the first 3D film for Scorsese. It is a co-production of Graham King’s GK Films and Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil. The film follows Hugo Cabret an orphan boy who has ended up living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station in the early 1900s.

A video game Mercenaries 2 World in Flames by Electronic Arts Inc., depicts mercenaries storming Venezuela, will most likely anger President Hugo Chavez, who has in the past threatened to cut off oil exports to the United States. The game is set in what they are calling a “fully destructible Venezuela, A power hungry tyrant uses Venezuela’s oil supply to overthrow the government and turns the country into a war zone,” they say that this video game could spark a psychological groundwork for an actual invasion.
Watchmen
Watchmen is a live actions film adaptation of English writer Alan Moore and British writer Dave Gibbons‘ twelve-issue Hugo Award-winning comic book limited series Watchmen. The Film will be directed by Zack Snyder. Set in 1985, the film follows a group of former vigilantes as war begins to break out between the United States and the Soviet Union. The film is under Warner Brothers Productions and is set to be released this time next year.
