85th Academy Awards – Oscars Animation Nominees
Early today the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the 85th Academy Awards. The Oscars will air on ABC on February 24, 2013 and the host will be Seth MacFarlane. I have posted the nominees animation for feature film and short. A couple of my favorites like Frankenweenie and ParaNorman.

Tokyo Mode Gakuen Fashion School Pays Homage to Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie
This past weekend Children at the Tokyo Mode Gakuen Fashion School had a Frankenweenie Fashion Competition Gothic style! Mini designers and their pup’s paid homage to Tim Burton‘s Frankenweenie with a fashion show. Children at the Tokyo Mode Gakuen Fashion School were challenged to create a monochrome costume befitting of a Tim Burton film. And the only one to make that call would be Tim Burton himself as he traveled to the school to judge the event. Check out highlights of the show below.

Nominees for the 85th Academy Awards – Animated Feature Film
Here is the completed list for the final nominees the 85th Academy Awards. Twenty-one features have been submitted for consideration in the Animated Feature Film category. But only five will be selected for nomination. The nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 8:30am/5:30am PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater. The winners will be announced on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Check out the entire list below.
Toy Hunter – Jordan Hembrough Interview NYCC 2012
Last week before the New York Comic Con, I got sit down one-on-one with Jordan Hembrough. from Travel Channel’s popular show the Toy Hunter and from Hollywood Heroes. I am huge fan of his show so I have to admit I was pretty nervous going into the interview. My index cards full of questions went blank, yikes! so I just started randomly blurting out questions. Lucky Jordan is a real cool guy and super friendly, which made the interview easy and fun. And I found we have a few things in common. Yolandi Visser x Weird Girl – Who’s More Freakish?
One of my fans found this cool split screen photo of Yolandi Visser from Die Antwoord and Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie character “Weird Girl” (voiced by Catherine O’Hara). “Weird Girl” is an very eccentric girl and one of Victor’s classmates, who is obsessed with the psychic predictions of her cat, Mr. Whiskers. Yolandi Visser is a south African singer/rapper known for her animated personalities. I did some digging and found out the connections get weirder. Sofia Coppola played the live-action “Weird Girl” aka Anne Chambers (as Domino) in the 1984 Frankenweenie and as you can see Yolandi and Anne Chambers both have a Hello Kitty infatuation. See below.
