Recently I noticed that Ron English’s site POPaganda, release’s a limited edition print on the third Thursday of every month. I know its the end of the month. But his current piece of collectible art “Cartoon Colored SpongeBob” is still available. This is a great piece especially if you are SpongeBob SquarePants fanatic. The piece is a limited edition screen print, 60 copies, signed, numbered. With a photographic background and a black and white line drawing of SpongeBob which has been hand coloured by Ron English. Priced is about $300.00.
Ron English fans get ready for school, Propaganda style! Here is a sneak peek of two new limited edition backpacks featuring Ron English’s iconic characters Charlie Brown “Grin” and “MC Supersize” Ronald McDonald graphics. These are the type of bags will definitely turn heads in the hallway. Even if you are not in school you can still rock these backpacks in the street and your bound to get some street cred. You can buy these backpacks through Osneaker for about 70.00 USD. Check out more pictures below.
Check out the latest collaboration between street-artist Ron English, Japan’s Secret Base, and New York City’s very own Toy Tokyo to create a new variation of the McSupersized Me figurine in a new “murdered-out” color-way. This figure is a what-if scenario if Ronald McDonald had consumed too many burgers. The toy is available now at ZOZOTOWN boutique for ¥7,140 which approximately $91.00 USD.
Here I have complied (with a little help) a list of the top 20 exclusive San Diego Comic Con toys. These are some of the hottest and the rarest toys in the industry. The resale value on the went through the roof right after the Comic Con. And those lucky to have profited from them or where just lucky enough to have added them to their collection. Left everyone leaving the San Diego Comic Con very happy. The list goes from 1 to 20, 20 being the number 1 toy of SDCC 2012. I hope you enjoy the list it took me decades to do ( not literally) but if you feel something else should have been on the list leave me a comment!
One of the many toys that will be popping up at the Toy Tokyo Booth at this years San Diego Comic Con is the highly anticipated Bart Brin vinyl figure from Propaganda artist Ron English. Obviously this Bart Brin is an extremely recognizable popular culture character from Matt Groening The Simpsons. I think so far, this has to be one of my favorite Ron English pieces to date. The Bart Brin is limited to only 100 pieces made and stands 10″ inches tall. He will only be available at the Toy Tokyo Booth # 5336. What do you think would you cop it? Check out more pictures below. Rong English will also be at the booth on Saturday July 14, 2012 to do some signing.
Tomorrow is the day if you’re looking to pick up a new exclusive vinyl toy then head over to Ron English’s Propaganda site and pick up the new Fat Tony Teal Edition direct from the artist’s studio. Each Fat Tony is personally signed by the infoumas street-artist Ron English. 100% Nutrition-Free, This Sugar Frosted Fat Tony is a ton of Tiger with a short shelf life! Part of the “Cereal Killers Series”. limited to 100 pieces 9 inches tall available on Thursday (6/28/2012) at Noon EST for $99.99 USD. what do think it is pretty grrreat!
Continuing with the street-art theme from the post. I found out that Ron English latest Propaganda victim is none other than Bubbles from the hit TV series The Powerpuff Girls. Created by Craig McCracken in the early 90′s the show ran on Walt Disney Television (1998-2002) and then Cartoon Network Studios (2002-2005). I was quite sad when the show ended I miss that whole Cartoon Network block especially Samurai Jack. Anyway the Ron English creation makes Miss Bubbles the once precious, sensitive one made up of sugar, into a strikingly more voluptuous and alienated creature. I am not sure when this piece hits stores as of yet but I will keep you posted. I’m sure knowing English’s style there will be a few different variations to this collectors toy. I also remember a while back that English did an Abject Expressionism rendering of Blossom (posted below) I guess he has a thing for these girls!
I have complied a list of the top popular animated Kitties, Cats and Lions. Now I came to the conclusion after all the research I started to do, this list could have been endless… scouring the internet for the most notable cats became challenging only because I kept finding more iconic cats along the way. Note this post is only cats that have been feature in a major movie picture. I realize that there are a TON of noteworthy animated cat characters. Each possessing their own canny ability to capture (god or bad) the hearts of an audience. So this post is only about the top 15 cats and their counter parts. Meaning other cats associated in that particular movie but are not the top cat. You will notice is this post a lot of the cats big and small seem to have some bad attributes while other are just plan old cute maybe one more than the other. You decide which is your favorite as I have and leave a comment below.
