Disney Design Group artists Mark Seppala and Darren Wilson have created some very cool Disney Villains Watches featuring fan Favorites Queen of Hearts from Alice and Wonderland, The Evil Queen Grimhilde, from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent (which is my favorite). The watches can be found at Downtown Disney Marketplace. Select watches can also be found on the Disney Parks online store.

Funko x Disney Mystery Minis Blind Boxes

Funko has announced a new set of Disney Mystery Minis blind boxes featuring beloved Disney and Pixar characters. First set is slated for release February 2013, the minis are 2.5-inches vinyl figures priced at $5.95 each.

The first set will include Tinkerbell, Maleficent, Mike Wazowski, Sulley, Jack Skellington, Pooh Bear, Stitch, and Mickey Mouse. Each character will have three versions with different poses and expressions.

While I was looking up Cinderella stuff It lead me to some Angelina Jolie photos on the set of ‘Maleficent‘ in the Buckinghamshire countryside, that I had not seen yet. I can’t believe I missed these, they were posted back in June! I also checked other news sites to see if they posted them, not many had. Funny how these slipped under the radar. I think these flicks bring some interesting insight into the re-vamped Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, which centers around how Maleficent becomes that evil green-skinned beauty. In these pictures you see ”Mistress of All Evil” in her raw tan color costume with antlers (atora) giving a mythical jackalope-ish feel. Something you might of seen in a Shakespeare play. Nothing I was expecting considering I’m accustomed to seeing the black/purple witch garb, from the classic Disney movie. I wonder if she has hoofed heels on? What do you think of this costume? Have you heard about the new live-action retelling of the fairy tale Cinderella that Disney has already set into production? I’m pretty excited Cinderella is one of my favorite fairy tales of all time. Next to Sleeping Beauty which I am twiddling my thumbs in anticipation to for the release of Maleficent. Rumors of Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett may play the Wicked Step Mother – Lady Tremaine, in the upcoming film. She would be the first to join the film. The live-action Cinderella is set to be directed by Mark Romanek and written by Chris Weitz. What do you think of Blanchette as Lady Tremaine?

Breaking news! Walt Disney Studios announced today that they have started on the upcoming 3D film “Maleficent” I has posted about this earlier this year so happy to see it is most definitely going into production. Based off the evil queen Maleficent Disney’s most beloved villain from the classic Sleeping Beauty (which happens to be one of my favorite fairy tales of all time!) tells the untold story of the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby princess, Aurora. Maleficent stars Academy Award–winning actress Angelina Jolie. Will be directed Robert Stromberg, making his directorial debut, produced by Joe Roth, and the storyline by Linda Woolverton. Executive produced by Angelina Jolie, Don Hahn, Matt Smith and Palak Patel. Co-starrs will include: Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville. Maleficent is scheduled for release March 14, 2014.

This is big news if you are a fan of the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty or a die-hard Angelina Jolie fan. Disney has officially released the date of March 14th, 2014 for their upcoming Maleficent (of Sleeping Beauty) movie. The new live-action adaptions of the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale Sleeping Beauty. The film follows the dark fairy’s origin story, giving her more depth from the classic Fairy Tale. It’s said and hopes that Angelina Jolie will play the lead role of Maleficent. Originally Tim Burton was going to produce and direct the film but has dropped out for whatever reason. So Academy Award-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (of Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and Oz: The Great and Powerful) will direct with a script by Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and Alice in Wonderland). I can not wait for this movie to come out Sleeping Beauty was one of my favorite Fairy Tales growing one year my mom made a costume that was reversible pink and blue two costumes in one! I’m also really glad to see Fairy Tale movies are blowing look like they are going to be taking over that superheros niche. This is not an official picture from the movie it’s just some fan art I found.

Funko Disney Vinyl Blox Figures and POP! Figures New York Toy Fair Exculsives

Here are some highlights of the Funko Booth at the 2012 Toy Fair.  So on this first picture I am totally stumped I will find out what the correct name is, but for now let’s just call them DEVO Mickey and DEVO Snow White. Middle pictures shows Vinyl Blox Figure Mickey Mouse and Blox Maleficent Bottom picture is a compilation of 9 inch Giant POP! Mickey with it smaller scale 4.25 inch POP! Mickey and Maleficent and Blox Classic DC Universe Batman. To conclude my I really like the Blox figures, I will post more info on release dates later.

Here is a sneak peek of the Disney latest video game characters from the Disney Universe which is introducing a downloadable “Disney Villains Costume Pack” available now on the Xbox LIVE online entertainment network and the PlayStation Network. Players can suit up and battle friends in five new costumes inspired by Disney’s most infamous villains Cruella de Vill from 101 Dalmatians, Hades from Hercules, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, The Evil Queen from Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs and Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
