Today in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Disney/Pixar held a special coronation for Brave’s Merida who has been officially inducted into Disney Princess Royal Court. Merdia sporting her new princess persona and dress was greeted by her mother Queen Elinor on stage, celebrating the bond between mother and daughters this Mothers Day weekend! The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, has announced the 2012 winners of its Annie Awards were last night and here is the complete list of winners. Also one of the highlights of the event was Terry Gilliam accepting his Winsor McCay Award via video and the very cool special Texas Avery Award statue for life achievement to June Foray best known as the voice of animated characters as Lucifer (Cinderella), Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Granny, Natasha Fatale and Magica De Spell.
Pixar’s Monsters University Toys to be Unveiled at New York Toy Fair
News dropped that the Disney/Pixar will be unveiling new Monsters University toys and merchandise at a exclusive press event in conjunction with the New York Toy Fair February 11, 2013. Along with the unveiling film director Dan Scanlon, producer Kori Rae, and stars Billy Crystal (Mike Wazowski) and John Goodman (Sulley) will all be in attendance to speak about the new products as well as answer questions about the film.
Also making its debute will be a bunch of new merchandise for the Toy Story, Cars and Brave lines.

Pixar’s Brave Wins Golden Globe
Congratulations to Pixar’s Brave who sanged a Golden Globe on last night for Best Animated Feature Film. Making over $535.4 million in theaters worldwide, Brave takes the title of the most popular animated movie at the box office in 2012.
Director Mark Andrews said, “Holy cow. What an amazing company to be in. 2012 was an amazing year for animation. I would like to thank Brenda Chapman for coming up with this amazing story; John Lasseter, Ed Catmull, Jim Morris, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter—my bosses, colleagues, peers and friends who gave me all the support, my incredible producer Katherine Sarafian, Bob Iger and everyone at Disney for being brave to do this film with this amazing heroine at the center of the film. Of course, my family, my wife Patricia, and my four children….Being Brave is about being true to yourself and allowing your loved ones that same freedom.”
