Chuck E. Cheese Revamp
Sadness one of my childhood icons Chuck E. Cheese known for its arcade style pizza restaurants has given news it is retiring the 35-year-old outdated rat mascot and the man who voiced its character for nearly two decades. CEC Entertainment Inc. plans to relaunch a national ad campaign with a revamped image of Chuck E. Cheese as a hip, electric-guitar-playing rock star. Chuck E. Cheese’s, originally referred to as Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre, was founded by Atari founder Nolan Bushnell. Bushnell’s experience in the amusement park industry, as well as his fondness of The Walt Disney Company, was influential in the conceptualization of the Pizza Time Theatre concept. The first location opened in San Jose, California in 1977, and was labeled as the first family restaurant to integrate food, animated entertainment, and an indoor arcade. What do you think of the reimaging will you miss the old Jersey Rat or are you looking forward to the new Hipster Mouse?
