Michael Bay is getting some serious back lash from fans, off his most recent interview hyping up the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action film. His recent statement that he made at the Nickelodeon Upfront, Bay says this:

“These Turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable.” Not a good idea to change the story Bay.

Most of grew up on the cult 80′s cartoon which has the turtles being mutated by New York City oooze. So as expected fanboys and girls are going nutso, making comments like:

“Michael Bay just needs to go away, I don’t care about transformers they always sucked. TMNT is the greatest thing ever and now he is about to ruin the best thing from my childhood!”

and…

“Micheal Bay shouldn’t be allowed to touch any part of any movie. Period!”

Ouch! and those were the nice comments! that’s pretty harsh stuff. Back tracking a bit this is not the first time Bay has been called out, let’s go back to the first two Transformers. Which was also criticized deeply by fans here is one comment on the Transformer franchise:

“Director Michael Bay’s bigger than life version of the cartoon I grew up loving pretty much ruined one of my favorite childhood memories.”

Ok and if that wasn’t enough remember when Megan Fox who was “fired” from the 3rd squeal making comments about Bay, she said:

“He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation,” Fox also called Bay a “tyrant.”

Now I’m going to admit The visuals, sounds and the dramatics of Transformers were cool. But not anything that I remembered watching the Hasbro Cartoon. And I mean if your going make the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into aliens they wouldn’t be Mutant right? Bay response to fans with these statements:

“Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story.”

and

“Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”

Hmmm I personally don’t know what to think about these Turtle Transformers I mean aliens…Teenage Alien Ninja Transformers! I guess I’ll have to wait and see. Fact is most people will still see this movie one way or another, but is anyone excited? please share if you are!
