Stan Lee is set to receive The Ninth Annual Visual Effects Society
Lifetime Achievement Award february 7, 2012. Born Stanley Martin Lieber in New York City on December 28, 1922, to Romanian-born Jewish immigrants grew up New York City, is an American comic book writer, editor, actor, producer, publisher, television personality, and the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics. Lee is most notable for his comic book icons Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four and co creator of the X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, and many other fictional comic characters. Stan Lee has been credited with the success of comic books made into movies the past few years leading the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.

This is not Stan’s first prestigious award he was inducted into the comic book industry’s Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1995.
