Robert Luketic and Barbarella veteran Dino De Laurentiis come together to develop a vampy updated of version of the 1968 film! It was rumored previously that Robert Rodriguez was to remake the intergalactic adventure with the super sexy Rose McGowan as Barbarella, due to lack of funding opened the door for Luketic to take over the film, it’s unfortunate too because Rodriguez is a amazing science fiction director, maybe next time. The “Barbarella” comic made her debut in 1962 in a French graphic magazine written and illustrated by Jean-Claude Forest. The 1968 Barbarella film starred 70′s pop icon Jane Fonda and produced by De Laurentiis.
