On June 17, 2009 graffiti god father, legendary street icon and ALL-CITY KING IZ THE WIZ, from crews TMB and RTW, known for his simple two letter tag, “iz”.  Native New Yorker from the borough of Queens, will be remembered long after the fading New York City spray paint.

IZ THE WIZ bombed and was a mentor to other graff writers such as BABY 168 and SACH. IZ has been tagged as the first generation of fame-obsessed writers who motto was quality and quantity, IZ had the highest record set for hit trains. He was also featured in the 1983 graffiti documentary and cult classic Style Wars.

IZ in 2006 was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2006 due the decades of using toxic aerosol cans with out wearing a mask, which also finalized his life on June 17, 2009.
