Astro Boy, 鉄腕アトム, Tetsuwan Atomu, Mighty Atom, Movie shut down due to recession

Business Representative Steve Hulett and President of The Animations Guild Kevin Koch have confirmed that due to the recent recession production on Imagi’s Astroboy movie appears to have shut down, that was due out in theaters on October 29, 2009.

Sources say the studio is out of cash to fund the film. The recent trailer was shown with the debut of Dream Coraline, this past month.

Astro Boy is the first Japanese television series that originated as a manga in 1952 by Osamu Tezuka, who is often reputed as the “god of manga”.
