R.I.P Stan Winston


Master of special effects and make-up arts Stan Winston died yesterday in his Malibu home at the age of 62, after battling for years with multiple myeloma. He was the visual wizard & Oscar winner for his blockbuster’s movies: Jurassic Park, Aliens, Terminator series, Edward Scissorhands, Pumpkinhead & Iron Man.

Cowboys & Aliens



Its reported that Robert Downey Jr., maybe be part of graphic novel Cowboys & Aliens by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. This film has been in the works for production for about 10 years. The novel takes place in 1800s Arizona, cowboys and Apaches are fighting over land when crash landing of a alien space ship disrupts the squall. The alien commander plans to tame the Old West and enslave everyone, but the cowboys and Native Americans turn their six-guns & arrows against the alien invaders.

Influenced by 30’s-40’s cartoons, 70’s pop culture, American and Mexican folk art, comic book art, tattoo flash, sideshow/carnival culture, horror/monster movies, Japanime and by his world famous puppeteer parents who frequently hung out Andy Warhol’s Factory. Michael combines all these elements and has created thousands of pieces in paint forms, sculptures dioramas and furniture. Art collectors like COOP, Billy F. Gibbons, Twiggy Ramirez of Marilyn Manson, Jello Biafra, Tera Patrick, H.R. Giger, and Joe Coleman, all have a piece of his work.
